good morning, brushy creek!
Photographing other photographers is SUCH a huge honor and also SO SCARY. I always have to tell myself that the best part of family photos, whether you're a photographer or not, is not having to do it yourself. Turning your brain off and focusing on your family si so much easier if you're not trying to manage where the camera is, your lighting, the ideal spot to be, whether you're in focus or not, and so on and so forth into eternity.
Plus, I get to look at your cute baby this way.
Not that that's my entire MO for being a photographer, or anything.
It's just most of my MO for being a photographer.
I digress.
I'm all for sunrise sessions too. This was out at Brushy Creek and, one, let me tell you, Brushy Creek in the fall afternoons? It's bumping. It's popping. It's like going to a club on a Friday (saturday? I didn't--it's probably obvious I wasn't a club goer) if the club was a park and the attendees were beautiful young families with young children. So different than a club in almost every material way but you get my drift. It's a great place for photos, but if you manage to grab a spot in the morning? You better believe that we had the whole place to ourselves. I'm an early riser, always have been, and your free pro tip for this post is that if you're having photos taken, ESPECIALLY on vacation or in a densely populated area, wake up early and get those photos out of the way. Just think--once you're done with photos, maybe you find a patio with a great brunch. Mmmmmm, mimosas.
