We've talked before about in-home sessions and why they rule, but let's take a moment for the studio session. This fall was the first fall that I offered white wall sessions at the greatest studio in East Austin--and true to form, as soon as I got to the studio, I realized that I loved the blank space, but that I *also* loved these stairs off to the side of the studio. So white wall minis turned into....white wall and stair minis! Which, dang, the warmth of the exposed brick and the warmth of this crew's super clear love for each other made for just perfect photos. Speaking of, I love newborn session. Fresh everything, raw love, it's awesome. But sessions with kiddos on that baby/toddler line are Just. As. Precious.

Because, look, newborns don't really smile. Which is totally good. They're a thousand kinds of cute in a thousand other ways and it's such a beautiful hazy moment in time, but I'm telling you, there is so much personality in old-baby smiles. So what I'm saying is book the newborn photos for sure but also book some down the line when things are settled....a little. And then maybe again after that.

My mini sessions run pretty quick. I extend the time a little for studio sessions, just to give us a little extra time to play in the space, and this sweet fam settled in beautifully and made the most of it. That's all the ingredients you need for a gorgeous session--cute family, cute studio stairs, and a whole lotta love.
